Access to Decodable Books

At Teach My Kid to Read, we believe that all children should have access to books of all kinds. Many excellent programs help with access to books. For example, Teach My Kid to Read is part of the Read in Color program through an initiative with Little Free Library. However, our concern is that no nonprofits are helping with access to decodable books, the types of books necessary to practice sounding out the words until reading becomes automatic. Decodable books also help children struggling with reading access books at their skill level and enjoy age-appropriate content.

To help with access to decodable books, Teach My Kid to Read accepts donations and partners with the decodable book publishers to reach communities that would not otherwise have access to the books. If you believe your library would benefit from decodable books, please complete the following form. Note that we can only serve libraries and our ability to provide donations is dependent on the generosity of the publishers and our donors.
